Bleijenberg is now Montung, our story

We started out as Bleijenberg, a family name we are proud of and one that simply remains part of who we are. Under that name we travelled to Southeast Asia, brought in the first containers of natural stone pots and slowly built up a loyal group of customers. Garden designers, landscapers, hoteliers and private collectors with taste who walked in because they had seen our pots somewhere or heard about us from friends.

A new name with its own character

Still, we increasingly felt that the name Bleijenberg said something about us as entrepreneurs, not about the pots themselves. It felt like our collection deserved its own identity. A name that fits where the pots come from, how they are made and how they feel once they end up in your garden or living room.

That is how Montung came about. The name subtly references the mountains and regions in Indonesia where the pots are carved and shaped, but above all it stands for the timeless, calm presence a good natural stone pot has. Not loud, not trendy, just well made and made to stay.

What changes for you?

In practice, very little. You still deal with the same people, we still source personally at the source, we still deliver the heavier pots ourselves and place them where you want them. What is new is the website, a better-organised online collection and improved photography and stories around the pots.

The legal entity also stays the same: BB-Import VOF. On your invoice you will therefore still see Bleijenberg or BB-Import. If you have any questions about this, feel free to email or call us.

Want to drop by?

The pots are on display in our garden in Zuidoostbeemster, about 20 minutes from Amsterdam and Hoorn and 5 minutes from Purmerend. You are very welcome to come and have a look, by appointment from Monday to Saturday. Just let us know you are coming and we will have coffee ready and walk you past the pieces you find interesting.
