Montung sells similar natural stone pots and troughs, with genuine patina and plenty of character. We are a different company, though, and not affiliated with Olive Ateliers. Montung sources every pot personally in Java, Indonesia. We select by hand and only pick the most unique pieces: the finest shapes, the most character, the best patina. What you see in the collection is not a catalogue but a personal selection.
The same look, a different company
What you see at Olive Ateliers and what we sell look alike: handmade pots and troughs of natural stone that have stood outside for years, with genuine weathering, natural patina, moss growth and aged edges. Montung is an independent company with no ties to Olive Ateliers. We select every pot in our collection ourselves in Indonesia.

Why ordering from America makes no sense
Shipping a pot of 50 to 100 kilos from California to Europe means high freight costs, import duties and VAT at customs, and weeks of waiting. In practice the shipping often costs more than the pot itself.
At Montung all of that disappears. The pots are in Zuidoostbeemster, North Holland, 20 minutes from Amsterdam. You can come and view them by appointment, we deliver throughout the Netherlands and also arrange transport to the rest of Europe. Prices are listed with every product online, VAT included.
How it works
Our stock changes constantly: every sourcing trip brings in a new batch and every pot exists only once. Online you see a selection, in the Beemster there is more. Make an appointment via WhatsApp and come take a look, or send us what you are looking for and we will send back a fitting selection.

Yes. The pots are handmade by local craftsmen and range from a few years to several decades old. The weathering and patina are real, created by the passage of time. Weather and time give every pot a unique, lived-in aesthetic.
